Peterborough-based courier – Mike and Sebastian Transport – has joined the diamondlogistics network to grow its eCommerce client base and serve customers in the Anglia area.
The local business, formed in 2017 and founded by Claudiu Arapu, has grown rapidly over four years. After just 12 months in operation, Claudiu employed 12 permanent drivers, and two months later, his first sub depot launched. By 2019, Claudiu had opened and managed four depots and developed a range of routes. Despite the challenges of 2020, two more depots were launched.
In 2021 Mike and Sebastian Transport has the largest geographical area coverage for Hermes and controls the exclusive rights to the Anglia region for Hermes light and large shipments.
Mike and Sebastian Transport is now set to extend and expand as a diamondlogistics Network Partner.
Claudiu shares why he chose diamond: “Our Hermes contracts work and pay for themselves and we wanted to spread out into other companies. We originally thought about the same sector, and signing with DPD or Amazon, but then discovered diamondlogistics and saw the growth potential.
“We see it as a huge opportunity to finally put together all the experience we have in sales, communications and logistics combined, to take the business to the next level.”
Despite the challenges some businesses are facing due to Brexit complications and COVID-19 restrictions, logistics remains a vibrant and critical service.
diamondlogistics has been supporting traditional carrier business models to pivot on-line and support eCommerce businesses to scale-up. The diamond operation is well positioned to navigate its way through the complications of Brexit, which its Network Partners will receive expert advice and support on.
diamond’s founder and CEO, Kate Lester, welcomes the new team. “We look forward to supporting Claudiu and his team whilst they support businesses local to them.“
“diamond is perfectly positioned to cater for a wide-ranging variety of logistics needs – all from one local point of contact.” Adds Kate. “It’s all managed on their one-stop logistics platform, despatchlab. It gives our customers the latest technology and services twinned with owner managed local centres. Exactly the kind of logistics partner that a modern business needs to grow.”
